Licensed Massage Therapist:
Melissa Graduated in 2010 from the prestigious Massage Therapy Institute of Colorado. Prior to her massage therapy business she worked with elderly patients as a nurses assistant to help them overcome their ailments. She has remarkable understanding and listening skills and enhanced recognition to pay attention to your physical requests. Melissa also worked in a chiropractic office where she practiced her skills as a massage therapist and a personal chiropractic assistant. Through her extensive training and experiences she is now practicing and specializing in a multi modality personalized massage treatment.
I differentiate myself from other therapists by incorporating all of the different massage therapy modalities into one unique experience. I achieve great results from utilizing Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Neuromuscular Trigger Point Therapy, Hot Stone Massage to elevate your experience to another level. During your therapy session you can also expect the use of personally formulated lotions, liniments and aroma therapy to help your body to relax and attain ultimate results. I benefit my clients by keeping all my charges at an affordable rate, and I do not charge any additional fees for the variety of services performed. This is a great value considering that similar therapies could run you well over a hundred dollars per hour. Take advantage of this great value and feel better soon!
Deep tissue massage is best for giving attention to certain painful, stiff 'trouble spots' in your body. The massage therapist uses slow, deliberate strokes that focus pressure on layers of muscles, tendons, or other tissues deep under your skin. Though less rhythmic than other types of massage, deep tissue massage can be quite therapeutic -- relieving chronic patterns of tension and helping with muscle injuries.
Myofascial Release is a highly specialized stretching & deep, manual therapy technique used by massage therapists to treat patients with a variety of soft-tissue problems. This form of bodywork uses long, manual stretching strokes that seek to rebalance the body by releasing tension in the fascia/connective tissue. Myo, meaning muslce, & fascial, referring to the fascia, offers release of the fascial restrictions surrounding muscles and soft-tissue. This manual massage technique releases the bonds between fascia and muscles with the goal of eliminating pain and increasing range of motion. Myofascial release usually involves applying shear compression or tension in various directions or by skin rolling.
Neuromuscular therapy is a form of soft tissue manipulation that aims to treat underlying causes of chronic pain involving the muscular and nervous systems. This medically oriented form of massage addresses trigger points (tender muscles points), circulation, nerve compression, postural issues, and biomechanical problems that can be caused by repetitive movement injuries.
As the best-known type of bodywork performed today, one of the primary goals of the Swedish massage technique is to relax the entire body. This is accomplished by rubbing the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. But Swedish massage therapy goes beyond relaxation. Swedish massage is exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension.
